Brenda Custer-Espeleta represents CBFANC as Area 6 Director of NCBFAAeditorNCBFAA’s Objectives NCBFAA’s objective is to promote the common business interests of Customs Brokers, Ocean Transportation Intermediaries, which included Ocean Freight Forwarder and Non-Vessel Operating Common Carriers, and Indirect Air Carriers (IAC’s); to encourage the maintenance of professionalism within our industry; to maintain a standard of. Integrity and efficiency that will protect clients and the Government in the fair, reasonable and equitable administration of import and export laws and regulations; and, to develop acquaintance and good fellowship among the members. Board Duties A Board member is expected to: promote the objectives of the NCBFAA; uphold the NCBFAA Bylaws; keep all association matters confidential; attend and participate in the four annual board meetings (two of which are at the Government Affairs Meeting, and the Annual Conference); act as a conduit of information both from and to the NCBFAA about local issues impacting the area represented; and participate or chair an NCBFAA committee. Area 6 consists of the Pacific Region. There are three association in the region: Customs Brokers & International Freight Forwarders Association of Washington State, Columbia River Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association, Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association of Northern California. The two-year board term is rotated between the three associations. | |
